Comparison Shopping Online
Some of the best deals can be found online- if you know where and how to look.
Remember when “comparison shopping” meant going from store to store, taking note of the price of an item in different places before making a purchasing decision?
The Internet’s changed all that. Online shopping has changed all that. Whether it’s the latest Elmo doll for your little girl, a box of steaks for your husband, or a new dress for you- chances are, you can shop for it online, at 3 or 4 in the morning, in your pajamas.
But the key to finding great deals online is knowing where to look. Sure, there are the usual “big names” such as eBay or Amazon, but for the best prices, you should definitely consider using one of the comparison shopping services available. Here are some of my favorites:
Froogle is always one of my first stops. How can you forget a name like that? The search here is, of course, quick- and offers a good variety of results from various online merchants.
Become.com is my newest favorite. Comparison shopping here just seems so… elegant. They also allow you to “research” items before searching for prices. Definitely, definitely my kind of place!
PriceGrabber impresses me because of its clean design, and no-nonsense functionality.
My Simon is a great place to go for electronics shopping- although you can comparison shop on everything from books to cosmetics here. Their Daily Shopping Picks are always interesting to look through as well, especially for a shopaholic like myself!
